Brian grew up in Ypsilanti, just around the corner from where Good Soil Café is now opening its doors. His path has included challenges—time in jail, recovery, and rebuilding—but those experiences shaped his resilience, discipline, and empathy. With a background in both coffee shops and factories, Brian brings practical skills in organization and leadership along with a passion for service. Since 2023, he has focused on recovery and personal growth, committing himself to creating a life rooted in community and accountability.

Brian will be serving as Good Soil Café’s manager when we open, and right now he’s helping us prepare by working on systems, training, café design, and workforce development. His leadership will help transform the historic Cow Building into a place where food, opportunity, and connection flourish.
